Please respond if you've NOT had a 1200GS/GSA fuel pump controller failure

As Wapping notes "As many UKGSers seem to subscribe to the, "Useless basted BuMW Assistance, send a man without a trailer" school of thought....I very much doubt it.". However, 12 of the 127 failures recorded did get fixed by BMW assistance. Given the pattern of the replacements by Assist (not increasing over time) I suspect he's right - they must stock parts randomly and not based on expected failures.

Interesting to note ST failures reported as well.

A thought occurs - is this problem in some way due to the weather in the UK? Do many people leave their bikes outside at night? I never have done, but it should be OK presumably, (although I have heard that a cover over a bike left outside will induce condensation.)

Julian Blackmore
04 GS owned since Jan 06
20,000 miles
All weathers except snow and ice
Lives in a garage and can be unused for 2-3 weeks at a time in winter

No fuel pump or EWS problems & no whinges about the bike. A niggle-free, infallible bike isn't very likely and would probably be pretty boring anyway!

Ian Lynch
05 GS, 14,500 miles.
Owned for one and a half years, ridden in any weather, except snow, always washed after salty ride.
Short and long rides, never left in the garage for more than a week without a ride.
Never any poblems.

08 GSA, 2 months old, 4,000 miles.
Same riding as above, only little problem is this one feels like its running a bit weak, which BMW are awere of.
