Posh new factory

Nice shiny new and no doubt efficient factory BUT I loved the old museum , it was old , a bit crusty and very dusty but it had character .

The new one internally reminds me of the KTM museum, BMW museum , Audi museum, Porsche museum and Volkswagen museum they are all so clinical and clean and polished but just a bit soulless .

well , all very nice .
i wonder how many bikes/year is the break-even point ?
it used to be 10k , but they could barely sell 7-8k .
not many people on the p-line ?

does the wind tunnel still exist ?

parent is seemingly bucking the trend with sales up over 8% and revenue up 3%

what is the basis of your thesis?

A lot of economists seem to think that the western countries are heading for a recession.and as piaggio are small scooter manufacturers they must be feeling the pressure of the Chinese competition .you can only buck the trend for so long .

Talking about this yesterday to my mate as he is a big MG fan and I expect to be an owner of a V85 by Spring next year as I intend to downsize. We both fancy a trip to the new museum next year.

I had a little nosey around when I dropped around early August on my trip. Parked up the Stelvio and "mooched", got asked what I was doing, they spotted the Stelvio, got very "Italian" and allowed me to walk around the virtually completed site with them for 20 mins or so but "no phone, no pictures".

I thought that was pretty cool of them, as they could of just said Fecko offo :)

That's twice I've had a good experience at the factory, and up the road at Mistral. Last year while taking pics at the gate a member of the Guzzi World Club on his Norge spotted me, thought I was Dutch (Yellow plate of course) and insisted on buying me coffee, turns out he works at the factory on the Stelvio line so he may well have been responsible for not greasing my head bearings :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I bought some Mistral niknaks, showed them my V7 had Mistrals, they got all "Italian" and gave me a couple of keyrings and an insulated water bottle :)

I need to go back and take the V7, so will factor that in next year.

PS, just before I get a slagging for the kitchen sink luggage approach :) Left Pannier Snorkey the CPAP Machine, and Tyre / Breakdown kit, right pannier clothes, top box empty (Just get's used as my stash locker to dump helmet, jacket, pants when slipping shorts on for "mooching")

Loved the old museum and the attitude that they are motorcycles on didplay ,they were designed to be ridden and not old masters so if you want to touch the exhibits or get a close look at them fill your boots.
