Pot Holes

It's back..........at last. NIG direct (through Devitt) not the most efficient of insurers.

I will be out on a run out tomorrow, either Whitby or might go over to Alston and Hartside, not really bothered it will just good to be back on it.

I have got the old wheels and will hang the up in the garage to remind me of how lucky I was that evening.

Thanks to Paul Sharmen at Coopers, nice guy.

Thanks Yalcrabm, yes cuffed to bits. Looking at the weather it will be Hartside pass tomrrow. I even enjoyed the run down the A19 this afternoon:bounce1:bounce1:bounce1

I was up at Torr Head yesterday when I fell into a pothole :augie

:):):)Letter from the council this morning agreeing to pay for th damge, normal legal stuff of not making any further claims. So just sign the paperwork and send it off to them.

I have the old wheels as a reminder of a close call...............Maybe I should invest in better lights to spot future potholes..........or slow down:rob:rob:rob

Good news:thumb2
If the wheels are spoked why not get them rebuilt on new rims, one set for road one set for trail:nenau

No, alloy ones. could melt them down:augie..........there's a link to the photos of the wheels further back in the thread, I'm a tight wad Yorkshire man who hasn't subscribed to this site;)

Apologies if this is the same pothole but yesterday travelling from Seaton Carew to Middlesbrough along the A178 we had to swerve to avoid a bloody great hole about half way up the Old Railway bridge at Graythorp. (travelling south). Didn,t want to hit it even in the car, for a Bike it looked lethal.
Beware, Mike Tee.

Glad you got it sorted out. :thumb
Now why not join the growing band of riders that report potholes and poor road surfaces to the local council before accidents happen :idea

I have just emailed in 5 potholes that are a hazzard to two wheeled transport in my local area. Going on their previous performances they will be filled this coming week.

Before anyone comments, no I don't work for the council, I just try to my bit to make our roads a bit better for everyone

No, it was on the A1185, Billingham to Seal sands road going over the rail bridge. I think most of the roads round there are suffering from the high volume of wagons going to the landfill sites who are probably overloaded:spitfire causing excessive damage plus all the normal HGV traffic to Seal Sands.

If anyone can tell me the Procedure on Reporting Road Defects in the Teesside / Hartlepool Area I will report any future problems I come across. Thanks, Mike Tee, GS1200, Ingleby Barwick.

I just rang the council switchboard and they put me through to the relevent department..........they also have a depot on Cowpen Lane in Billingham where you can report in person.
