Hi
Hope someone can help with this one.
I have a 2011 1200GS and I need to pick up a speed pulse from the bike to set up the PC. On the 2011 model the 3rd wire (Speed pulse) in the socket used for GPS is not there, just a 2-wire power supply to the socket. I have read that this speed pulse wire use to be connected to the bikes ZFE module on pin 42 and I can confirm this pin is not used on my bike.
So the question is can the speed pulse be picked up from elsewhere or can someone suggest a supplier of contacts to fit the ZFE plug so that I can wire to pin 42.
Thanks

Okay...
How are you going to input the gear positions and how will you plot the AF tables for each gear/cylinder? Do you have a dynometer in your shed?
Don't mean to piss on your chips, but it sounds like you are taking on quite a project here.
Quite a few of us have used a PCV and it works really well by fitting it, download the standard European map and ride away.
Make sure you waterproof the connectors, especially the TPS one on the outside of the left injector.
I'm sure others will be interested in this project, too.

I'm interested in why you'd want to have a different map for each gear. It's not as if a GS needs 'taming' in the lower gears. It sounds like a case of wanting to do it just because you can, not because you need to. But, as I said, I'm interested....

I have been running with the PC for 18-months and its good although I thought I could improve by having maps for improved acceleration gears 1-4 and gears 5-6 for economy. This could also be achieved by map switching (2-position switch) but thought by speed and gear calibration it would be better opening up 12 maps (6per cylinder and 12 AFR tables for auto tune. Your probably right Sproggy / Comberjohn Im just playing but why not.

I have a PCV. It runs a bit rich but not enough to be worth a dyno session.
Around town I get less that 45 mpg. At fast motorway speeds it does 48 to 49 mpg. So all up I'm pretty happy with it.
