Power Socket

I picked up my 1200 this morning & I'm very pleased with it.

Atm, I'm just looking the bike over & grinning to myself.

I eventually want to fit my Garmin satnav & I planned to wire it directly to the battery but I noticed a power socket on the left/rear by the shock. Has anyone used this, does anyone have a photo of the male plug? Do BMW sell the male plugs?

How have other members wired in their GPS systems?

I'm off to look at my bike again!

If you look here: http://www.sportouring.com/main.php?group=powerlet plugs and adapters and near to the bottom for PPL04, they IMHO are the ones to get as the plug doeasn't stick in your leg / get smashed by your leg etc. You don't need to take the tank off either when you wire in the GPS.

I've fitted the Motorrad Concepts mount and their own CANBUS spec Quest power source but can't see where I plug it in. Can you tell me where this socket is at the front? Mine's a 1200GSA so would imagine it should be the same.

My rider's manual says the front socket is an option, my GS ain't got one.

Thanks John, with Dutchman's help I found it last night taped to the loom near the head stock.
