I had a test ride on a TE and noticed a power socket up near the clocks

Is this socket also wattage limited?
Plugged heated jacket in to dash panel one and computer its say NO buggeroff and turned socket off!...
So currently running staight off battrey...
I'm sure an accessory socket is easily fitted.
I paid £17 ish for the lead and socket (BMW sized socket) from Nippy Normans (it comes with an in line fuse). It is currently (no pun intended) fitted to my C1.
I have no idea what the BMW part costs but I imagine it is many times that amount.
Same here. Gerbing's liner won't work correctly. Optimate 4 charger doesn't work either from the socket in Canbus mode. Direct to battery is the way now. What exactly is the use of this socket if it can't take more than 5 amps?Is this socket also wattage limited?

Yes, I have, and several times at that. I never got to get the bottom right fixed green light indicating charge complete. It kept showing the charging fixed yellow lights. That was on the RT. I will try again with the new GS. Who knows. It should do - mine works fine. Have you got the charger set to CANBus mode....?![]()

It's good for things that take less than 5A (60W)![]()
