Changing tyres on a gs is so easy, I get mine for £160 or thereabouts from discount merchants, the tools to do so are cheap also. Within a couple of changes they have paid for themselves. If you do a lot of mileage its worth it.
Saves time too and another skill to learn. Saying that you need a professional to do this on modern tyres and wheels is totally untrue.
All you need are some good levers, rim protectors can be just cut up old plastic oil cans, bead breaker ( £40 at the most ). You'll need supplies like wheel weights, and proper tyre lubricant/ seal ( don't use fairy liquid! ) maybe a spare set of hands initially. Loads of info on the net on the best way- you can even use the zip tie method but it's quite lengthy. A balancer too ( £25). It's easy.

so frustrating. spent over 4 hours on Saturday back up to FWR from Guildford. I'll spare the gory details, but all i got out of it was my old front tyre put back on. So, now i have one new rear PR4 mismatched to my old Anakee 3 front tyre for £240.....
They are sending the front back to Michelin, then if its faulty i will finally get a new front. If the tyre is fine who knows! Which ever way i went (new anakee 3 for the rear, keep the old front tyre OR new pr4 for the front and keep the new rear pr4) i was going to have to pay AGAIN... then...hopefully.... get my money back at a later date. I don't like it one bit, but hey ho. I didn't want to spend any more money, so the old tyre is back on the front. OH and no wobble.....

What's the point? Seems like far too much hassle to me.
Have you changed tyres on an LC GS? I have watched the motorcycle tyre fitter I use change the rear tyre twice on mine using professional equipment and he has struggled with the stiff side walls! I wouldn't want to do it as a DIY job although it would be handy!
