I shall look into that. Just a quick question about accomidation. We plan to camp most of the way but what did you do in bosnia, I understand landmines are a big problem?
Hey - I just watched Austin Vince vid too - I can just see my right leg in the Tuareg trousers!
Back on track ...
I'd seriously consider replacing the coolant hose spring clips with proper stainless steel hose clamps, and also replace the coolant fluid with the higher temp fluid - it's the pink one that VW and Mercedes use.
I was going to suggest sliming your tyres, but you'll be using more than one set on your travels I guess...
Has anyone mentioned auxillary power outlets? Useful to be able to recharge more than one thing while you're on the run, or plug in heated clothing etc. A small 75w inverter will let you run low current 240v devices too - I have a Ring inverter that's about the size of a packet of cigs, great to fire up the laptop or your personal dvd player on those cold lonely nights in your tent

I don't think the Problem is all that. Areas with landmines are clearly marked and it would only be a problem if you were to free camp within a designated mine area . On my trip I passed through Bosnia briefly when riding down the coast. I was with Colebatch who will testify to not being a fan of camping. We camped once in Austria and the rest of the time stayed in small hotels. Stevie73 of these parts stayed in Bosnia.
I met a cyclist on my travels and he camped all the way through the Balkans. his blog is worth a read.
