Pro Gear Assist for 2014 GS

Ding I know you retro fitted to your other bike but I think I would struggle to fit it myself, also would there be warranty issue's fitting yourself.

Mine arrived yesterday, lovely piece of kit, the splines are a thing to behold. dealer did warn me however that once fitted and coded to the ECU, the program cant be removed.
The unit itself replaces the first linkage from the gear change shaft.
Apparently a bit dodgy on down shifts, but "glorious" going up the 'box.
Mine being fitted prior to my collection from Williams Manchester on launch day.

Just out of curiosity, how much fitted?

Yes mine is being fitted Monday all good so far what good service I have to say Impressed! "Did i mention only 14 more SLEEPS LOL>

Just found out that my bike is to old by 49 bikes on the production line, didn't get the updates and can't have the pro gear assist retro fitted!
However as I said to my dealer this is now becoming a collectors item 2013 bike and I will expect a premium when I trade it in!

Sounds like a tarts handbag!:P:beerjug:

Yes pair of Tarts for sure! just can't make our minds up over Akro's saw one on a 2014 GS water bus and it had rusted rivets on end can? and anyway are they any better than stock system, other than they take that biscuit tin look away?

I've not had corrosion on any of the Akras I've had on my bikes.:nenau

The sound is fruitier, and it looks much nicer. I have the end can, and the headers on the way, so I am biased!:D

An interesting review from someone in the US (copied and pasted from another forum).:thumb

"The Gear Shift Assist Pro works best at higher RPMs and higher speeds. I like it best shifting from 3rd to 4th to 5th to 6th. The way to use it, is to maintain your throttle without rolling off. While maintaining the throttle, simply upshift (without using the clutch), and you will feel the quickness, and smoothness of the shift. It is exceptional when passing traffic. It simply shifts faster and smoother than a human can work the clutch. This technology has come from the racing teams. It will put a grin on your face. The Gear Shift Assist Pro is different from my 3 previous bikes that had only the Gear Shift Assist. The "Pro" version also works when downshifting. I have found that when downshifting, the best results come when rolling off the throttle, and downshifting simultaneously (without using the clutch). This also works best at higher speeds (over 50 mph). The downshifting aspect works well, but for me, the upshifting is where the excitement is.

I live in Florida, where our roads are mostly straight and flat (boring). But it's the price we pay to ride year around. I feel the Gear Shift Assist adds another dimension to the GS. Not only is it a great touring bike, but this gives it a "sport bike" feel also. This bike truly has the best of "all" worlds."
