Pro Gear Assist for 2014 GS

I'm told that pro shift will also do downshifts, as per the new RT.
However, from BMW dealer:
"BMW have confirmed that the pro-shifter is not yet planned to be available for the new GSA and is not standard on the machine.

As with all these things it could potentially become available in the future."

I don't see why it wouldn't work on the GSA, if it works on the GS.:nenau However, the big lardy GSA is the last bike you'd need a quick shifter on.:aidan

Hi, after reading the thread, I'm liking the thought of one of these, anyone know the retail price & do they come from BMW dealers.?

Thanks, anyone fitted one themselves or does it need dealer activation.?

Definitely needs the dealer to update the software. The fitting of the device doesn't take long, it's the software apparently.

From BMW customer services

"Further to our telephone conversation datedJanuary 3, 2014*when we discussed the pro gear shift assist.* I have provided the details you require below.

On contacting the Motorrad specialist, I can confirm that the R1200 pro gear shift assist is in the pipeline but we have no confirmed date for retrofit product launch in this current quarter"

Reply from BMW customer services about availability for new 2014GSA at launch in march.
.

So far I have been told that it is not available?
And that the brochure is wrong and should not have the pro gear assist listed for the new GSA

So as usual confusion rains supreme.

Big Derek is gonna be pissed.:rob

My dealer still says its a gower.....checking today had details from factory?

Keep us informed mate. I am keen on one but I think I am being misinformed.
Any other info that you have would be helpful.
I hope you are being told the right answer and that the correct info has not yet filtered down to all the dealers.

According to the Motorcycle Parts and Accessories manager at BMW GB yesterday, the Pro Gear-Shift Assist will not be available until later this year. It will definitely not be available at the season launch in March.

I wouldn't take too much notice of what BMW say.:P

Are you referring to the GSA as this thread was about the standard WC?

I wouldn't be sure about that, as Vines have had a few press bikes with the QS fitted.:rob

I'm only passing on what the P&A guy at BMW GB said yesterday. I'm not sure that what you're saying is completely incompatible with what I'm saying, mind you - in the past, press bikes have been pre-prod bikes for new models, perhaps this is the case this time as well.
