Pro Gear Assist for 2014 GS

I haven't but I'm a bit interested.

IIRC you have the DynoJet version fitted. Is this in conjunction with a Power Commander? What are your impressions?

Die with the most toys? You win!

I had the dynojet version on my TC but that's the expensive option because you have to have a pc to run the shifter, obviously its a lot easier to wire in, just plug n play.

On my first wc i went for the standalone translogic kit, no pc required so a good saving, this little box does everything.

But you have to cut into a couple of wires 3 in total, easy peasy really. Its now fitted on my new blue bike and ive had them on about every bike I've owned, i think there great, very addictive. They work best when you want to have some fun, just hold the throttle to the stop and snick snick thro the box, now if you just pootle around than a quickshifter ain't for you . It also made my gearbox seem less clunky .

The list price for the parts for the BMW Pro Gear Assist is £360 inc VAT, before any discounts. Labour is additional, unless you fit it yourself.:thumb

Almost 25% of the cost of my bike :blast:blast

The latest must have alongside rim tape, carbon wrap, loud pipe and sticky road tyres.

RIP GS :rose

Gotta say i agree. I came from sportsbikes like a lot on here but the GS offered something else. All for a decent engine (= lots of torque) but a quick shifter ? - what the *uck

I can't understand why anybody unless they are racing competitively on a track or have a disability preventing them from controlling their very own motorcycle would waste money on a quick shifter ???????? I suppose the extra milliseconds gained around Tesco's carpark which would then equate into a record lap around the TT or a paris Dakar record by thetime you got to the pub must make it all worth while ?
Att told me there were more clowns on here than on the Buell site ....................... I see he was right as normal ;-)

I have no issue with progress - I own a Twin Cam and am very happy with it and would never go back to a 1150 ...but why do need to put fat tyres and riding modes on it ?

It's like Apple phones - they used to lead with innovation and now they follow - who wants a GS Multistrada FFS :nenau

It's a good thing isn't it? The clown bike owners won't have to think about using their clutch, gives them more chance of remembering how to park it, uphill or down. But, as a downside, it is one more thing to add to the checklist when collecting their new bike from the dealers each year.

I can see how it could become a dilemma.

I can see how the window shoppers will probably dislike the QS until they tried one, I've had 2 bods say wtf have you got a QS ! So I let em have ago and they came back and said it fooking brill tis that.

:)

Just my opinion but if you regularly red-line a GS you're probably on the wrong bike :aidan

I suppose its different strokes for different folks, your more than welcome to try mine if your ever Derbyshire way, its not the case of having to redline it.

It's funny, and unsurprising, that everyone slagging off the quick shifter doesn't own an LC.
