Updated my Nav6 over the weekend to 2024.10 mapping.
Updating through Garmin Express (latest version) I ticked box to install to unit and PC.
Mapping installed to Nav6 but not to PC.
I have now tried multiple times to install to PC but no success.
It starts to install to PC gets to 4% and then you get a error message.
Also tried to install to a 2nd PC and will not install!
Has anybody else had this problem?
If so please let me know how you resolved this.
Thanks

Same here :( only tried PC, says down loading, then error message .

Yes, had the same with a Zumo 390 before I went away for the weekend. It's a problem they had a while ago that has resurfaced. There was a workaround to install the maps on a PC by ensuring you had Garmin Express opened in Administrator mode, but that has not worked this time.

Contacted Garmin this morning regarding the update issues.
Was requested to uninstall Garmin Express reboot computer and reinstall. (Still no change)
I sent them some files from Nav6 and also from Garmin Express that they requested and was then told its a Garmin Express issue.
They will send a e-mail with any news.

I've had the same. I had a look at the logs that GE outputs and seen that it's a checksum issue, most likely checking the map files it's expecting to download haven't been tampered with but someone hasn't updated the checksum when updating the files to 2024.10. Bottom line, as suspected is that this is unfortunately nothing anyone is going to be solving locally by reinstalling, rebooting etc etc. Just have to wait for Garmin to make the change, or you could go and buy a Mac since it isn't currently suffering the same fate :)

Thanks for your info 👍

I've downloaded the maps for my Nav 6 and 590, and to my PC with no issues. Maybe try removing Garmin Express, all the directories and files it leaves behind and clean the registry of any reference to it.

Changed nothing locally but tried again this morning and there was a device update. 2024.10 map download is also now working so it looks like they've fixed something on their side in response to your (and likely many other folks) enquiry. Give it a try. (y)

ditto

I have 2024.10 installed on laptop & Zumo so one can only assume they fixed the problem. Garmin Express did a complete download again so I am guessing there was a new version of the mapping for Basecamp with the correct checksum.

Hi
I received an E-mail from Garmin stating they had resolved the issue.
That’s what I call GREAT service 👏

I always select unit and pc for map install, did it earlier in the week and didn't notice any error messages but just checked, 590 at 2024.10, pc at 2023..10, never noticed.
Currently installing on pc...
May need to reconnect 590 as its been at 0%, activating maps for a while.

Edit, by the time I was back from garage it had completed. Basecamp now accessing 2024.10, all seems good, now it wants to update Basecamp!!

Not exactly great service when the first thing Garmin do is to say Unistall / Reinstall, Remove windows clean your PC etc when its a problem at their end!
