Problems getting CN7 onto my `puter

I removed CN7 a while ago when I got a new hard drive. I`m trying to re install it after getting a new disc1 from Garmin as I thought mine was faulty. I can get the setup disc to come on but as for the rest, no chance It keeps telling me to install disc 1 when disc 1 is in already Could this be a computer problem?
If so can anyone tell me how to do it? I`ve sent away for a CN9 but am in 2 minds to try and install it as I think it`ll cost about £80 for an unlock code I`m considering putting some cash to and getting a new sat nav if I can`t get this bloody thing sorted

I had the same problems with City select v6.but not on all computers,once an install failed,I seem to recall having to edit the regestry,wipe out anything Garmin and Mapsource then start again..insert Setup disk then the first install disk(disk1) then the second one(disk2) I think it then asked for one of the other disks again before the install was complete.

Thanks for that Dave I`ll now be going down my computer shop and saying "ere, put this programme on this computer please" I have no patience with computers, either they work or I want to break them
