Have you considered iron oxide paint? Paint it on hit it with an activator (acid) and you get a nice rusted effect. I have used it on some sculptures. By painting over the original paint the tank still has some protection.

There is a local ute done completely in iron oxide -crowd stopper :D

Any chance if telling me more please

Have a squiz at this site -http://www.ugp.com.au/UGP_Rust%20Paint.html
Sure to be a supplier of something similar closer to home.

The below image one of my papier mache sculptures coated with the iron paint. With a bit of experimenting I got the colour and effect I was looking for.

I am also thinking of doing a bike in this paint :D

It need a pair of high level, reverse cone megas with alloy caps. And a couple of heat shields.

The short ones, and maybe a kink in and out again just aft of the petrol tap.

That pipe looks like a hoover attachment, needs more shape IMHO perhaps spend some of your gold reserve on a set of pro made pipes:thumb2

I will reduce the length slightly , slash cut them , fit baffles , fit a drilled heat shield and wrap in this

Seat looks nice but agree the exhaust needs more work. Perhaps look at the existing lines of the bike. At moment it is too much at odds with the rest of the bike.

I came across this today and thought of you :blush

I reckon the way the pipes run, both along and in-board is about spot on :thumb2

I've seen that before....yes the pipes look ok , the overall look of the bike is like a 70's trail bike , am really not after that style

The main problem I have is that I am very limited on the island to get pipes bend or indeed exhausts made. I will run with what I've got for now (still a bit to do on them) and if I get a chance to go to the England with it I may get a pair made up for it

Maybe something like these
