Just bought this off Eblag......but it is hissing it down outside ( and bike temporarily outside under a bike cover )...but a quick look and I can't see where this will fit onto my 1100. No bracket or fixings came with it.

Here's a pic...anyone fitted one of these?

you'll need to get in touch with pyramid and buy the missing bolts... which replace the bolts that hold the rear caliper to its bracket. These bolts have a male and female side.. the hugger is fixed to these bolts by a further two bolts.

seems odd you didn't get them.. as they're redundant without the hugger. (and vise versa)

suspect it may be similar fitting to the 1150, but please note I'm guessing here so may be wrong.

Have a look at photie 2 on this thread - suspect bolts along those lines may be what you need: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=199184

is the hugger you've bought deffo for 1100 and not for 1150 ? Looks v similar to my 1150 one.

How much was it mister and have you got a linky for where you bought it? - I may need one soon. Post up here if you get the fitting kit as well IYDM.

Hope that helps, if only a wee bit. :thumb2

Thanks guys...mine is deffo for the 1100GS and those two bolts weren't in todays parcel:tears and
I'll get onto Pidcocks tomorrow for the bolts or they can have it back:rolleyes: ....hardly rocket science to put the fitting kit in, is it? :rob

The 1100 one is exactly like that. I have one fitted to my 850. You need to loctite the allen bolts that screw into the hex spacer or they tend to vibrate loose. Also, mine tends to clout the underside of the rear mudguard - the hugger is not the best designed bit of kit IMHO.

Hope this helps.

Blimey, you've cheered me up no end ( I do hope you far exceed my lightweight 13 st ) !!:D

Good advice, thanks :thumb2

I didn't.. and they haven't. after a year. still nice and tight. no loctite.. just a smear of copperslip!

(yes.. I ran out in the bloody rain to check.. and all i got was wet!!)

I removed the rear mudguard... THAT was the whole point of fitting the hugger in the first place!! :blast

That.. and to protect somewhat the rear shock what I bought via this very boutique.

mine was on my 1150 for 3 years (plus however long it had been on there before I bought the bike with it on) without anything special and it didn't work loose at any stage. Seemed to do the job AFAICT. It had an easy life with me, though.:moped: :D

Just bought this off Eblag......

Thanks for that, hoping Pidcocks are OK to deal with...piss poor standards from some ( other suppliers ) of mail order goodies I've bought recently though:(

By a cunning series of deductions - did you buy it from Pidcock's eblag site then ? Got a linky? How much ?

I had to buy a fitting kit for an 1150 one some time ago.Cost about £20 i recall.

Piece of useless shite, sling the crap thing away,no use to man nor beast.

The hugger isn't worth much more either:augie

ronnie, i would doubt it mate, some like huggers some dont, i personally dont, i have a extended crud protector, which cost me nothing, and does the job.

its up to you though, :)
