Regarding autocom. I'm looking at the spa2 and I'm wondering if another rider has an spa system fitted do you then have bike to bike capability. I have no experience with intercoms and just want an easy to use system.
I've had Autocom and later Starcom (who I think bought out Autocom) for years and whilst the sound system has been very good, I have found the hard wiring system a tiny bit of a pain in the arse.
Twice I've had speakers (or at least a wire somewhere) fail, and there was always the faff at petrol stations, tea stops, or anywhere you get off the bike, in plugging and unplugging. (it's not that much of a faff - my memories are constantly plugging and unplugging the missus 'cos she couldn't line up the connectors without her glasses ).
So ... I'm just about to invest in (probably) a Sena SMH10. Which will pair with phones music and satnav (if that's your bag) and will also pair with another rider who has the same. I understand the sound quality is very very good, and it eliminates all the faff of stuff under the seat, wires cable tied to the bike etc ..
If you invest in an autocom, you'll also have to get walky talky style radios, ptt buttons and speakers and mike. Would you be better off joining the bluetooth revolution ??
There are numerous pros and cons to both hard-wired traditional intercoms, such as Starcom or Autocom, and the Bluetooth units. Spend some time reading though this section of the forum to find which suits you best before jumping in blind. The shortfalls of both are covered numerous times, the search function is your friend.
