A couple of months ago, my quick shifter failed for the second time.
The bike is still under warranty. The first time the break in the wiring was repaired via an official BMW ‘patch’. This time it’s a new loom. By this, I assume it’s a new sub-loom, which connects in somehow. Five to seven days for it to arrive from wherever BMW keep their looms.
The bike is still fully rideable, it’s only the quick shifter that doesn’t work. I say doesn’t…. Now and again it will sometimes work for one shift, I assume when the broken wire either reconnects or doesn’t short against something.
