AAMOI WTF is NSIO?

google says it's the National Irish Safety Organisation which may account for the letters not being in the right order :)

Neither, I have Fournales, it's excellent. SMIO.

i have a WP rear shock which since i'ts been serviced is perfectly acceptable.
it is the one without remote reservoir & with no adjustable compression damping costs about £350. it was on the bike when i bought it.

if i were buying from scratch i would be very tempted by adjustable compression damping even though i would set it once, to factory settings probably, and then forget about it. it costs another oner too.

i have little knowledge of the ohlins option apart from their fine reputation & nice gold anodising which is very shiny & may well improve one's success rate with women.

yes, i have had one or two glasses of wine :)

Andy,

Credit where credit is due..thanks for the advice maybe canvassing opinion merely clouds the issue.

OLhins/WP

It seems to be about 60/40% if you go by reputation alone..alot seems to depend on backup.

Cheers

Chris,

Ask away old son but we have had this particular topic many times before in fact way back when I started one, also onthe BMW Club Site and Micapeak GS site and ADV rider for good measure :D. Rather than wait for all to check in again use the search engine, I'd doubt opinion has changed much over time.

Good man! CBI who cares if it works or not?!?! Premium brand cachet mate thats what its about.

I´ve got a Hagon and I´ll not be doing that again. I´d buy an Ohlins for any GS you are planning to keep long term prolly. Yep but then I´d have to respray the bike to match the yellow shock....

Yellow shock with lovely anodised bottom bit looks lovely on a black GS :thumb Kind of shouts out a bit don't think :D...

should I make a comment about the difference in build qualities of the two walls or should we wait for Bakes?

I'm no builder but I doubt dry stone walling technique works too well on a load bearing bridge. As for the 'girls' on the other side of the wall I think we can all see I only have my eyes on one girl here :inlove

poor old me

I met a guy witha 93 GSPD on the side of the road over here.

We chatted for a while about bikes and went our seperate ways.

About 4 months later I get a phone call from him saying he is selling his bike as he had a bad accident on another mode of transport.

Says the bike shop won't give him a cent xtra for the ohlins so do i want it if I give im $150 (50 pound sterling) and me old shock.

well me old shock was getting a bit like a 50 year old whores ass so i said SOLD.

he was even the same weight as me and had it set up by the NZ Ohlins dealer.

now i got a bike that tracks like a train and with the remote adjusters a few twists and can adjust for one or two up.

Its one of the best mods ya can fit to ya bike
