Just wanted a bit of advice on prices if anyone can help. Have been offered a very clean and original 90 R100GS bumblebee. Has BMW Panniers and heated grips. New tyres 46K and loads of history. Always fancied one but dont want to pay over the odds. Anyone have a ballpark on value? Thanks in advance.

surprised you haven't had any replies.

Your description is pretty straight forward, although picture always help. I sort of track the prices they go for so if its very clean, with relatively low mileage like you state then at £2,000 I would take their arm off, £2,500 would be a bargain, £3000 - £3,500 would be an ok price, £4000 it would have to be "absolutely mint"/"something a bit special" to justify

lets see if this commentary illicits any further feedback

I know of a tidy, but needed a little tlc, r100gs
that went for about 1500 recently and I thought that was a very good buy
wish I had had it :thumb2

I agree more with Mick and think the first two suggestions are £500 too high in each category. I sold my 95 PD Classic for £3,250 this time last year.

I would think a 90 R100GS bumble bee should be around £2,000 to £3,000 max. No way can it be worth £3,500 or £4,000 unless a complete idiot with more money than sense wants one, in my opinion.:)

The chap wants £2500 for it. So would seem about right from your comments. It is a very nice bike. Surely they will only go up in value?

at last some responses for you :beerjug:

£2500 if its pretty good and if they can prove the mileage seams like a "good value price"

Go up in value: if you keep it tidy it will. I think the earlier 86-92 bikes without the overly large screen etc looks better and will rise in price more than the later model. (but I may be alone in this thought :) )

Sold mine £2700. Almost had my hand bitten off. It was in V good condition and in hindsight I should have asked for a little more. The £3k plus estimates would be for exceptional machines imho. I think prices have levelled out now and although it probably won't appreciate massively it won't lose anything. So ride it for a couple of years and sell on with your money back, not as bad as it seems if you look at interest rates on savings!
