Hello

I just found a mysterious engine miscolour like shown on the picture and would like to hear if anyone of you have had the same issue? Or even better can tell me how to remove it without damaging the paintwork.

* Have tried removing it with petrolium without any luck...

OK.
Is there a way to remove this stayn?

Nope

Petrol gets into/under the lacquer on silver engines and short of a repaint................you are stuck with it

dammit...

But thanks for your help..

Mine had this on the RH foot peg bracket. I seemed to get it off with judicial use of very soapy water (car shampoo, not washing up liquid!) And some 0000 wire wool. Needed some patience but it worked. Maybe I was lucky and the staining not to bad?

But I did read a while back that Steptoe suggested there was a way...but for the life of me can't remember what the substance was that he suggested.

MEK gets rid of the stain... But it's not readily available. :D
