r1100gs indicators

Hi all, I am having problems with the indictors on my 98 r1100gs. The other day they started flashing a lot faster than normal. My first thought was I had a bulb out , which wasn't the case. Today I have been checking the various connections and found nothing. The hazard side of things flash normally. Would anyone have any idea what the fix may be? If I put another 21w bulb into the circuit they flash at a normal speed on that side.

Could be a relay

the faster flash rate happened to me a few weeks back I thought I had a bulb out but no, I removed the flasher relay and sprayed switch cleaner into the socket and relay pins (btw when it was flashing fast it was only the indicators hazard flashed at a normal rate )
after the spraying all work as normal

this what I used servisol switch cleaner

Well I went to check it out the other day and normal service had resumed
