hello guys just put johns stage 8 chip in the bike all I got was fuel pump constanly on but does not fire up did take fues 5 out etc and turn the throttle 3x times could it be a dodgy chip or should I put original chip back in . any help much appreciated thanks

put original bbpower chip back in now it works must of had a dodgy chips from john stage 8 and 9 chips will send him a message later .least its running thank goodness.

FYI, if you already have another upgrade chip that was fitted with an 'adaptor' (ie the chip is not fitted directly to the socket on the ECU circuit board), you need to remove that 'adaptor' for John's chip to work

OK, John's chip needs to plug straight into the socket on the ECU circuit board. The previous chip may have had an adaptor between the chip and the socket. If so, this needs to be removed as it's actually part of what made the old chip work (and it will stop John's chip from working)

The OE BMW chip didnt have an adaptor but most subsequent 'upgrade chips' do. It is part of the vendor's effort to stop people accessing and copying their maps.

John's chips are not locked in this way, hence the need to remove any previously installed adaptor

just like to say thankyou to Nick.c you was spot on there was a bbpower adapter my strage 8 is in now im gonna balamce the throttle bodies . thanks again.
