R1150RS

Along with the R it's the relatively forgotten 1150 of its era... Really a riders bike and if you rode them enough you had a big respect for them... That's the most expensive one I've seen recently but it has hardly used mileage... Very tyre specific in the day....

A lot of these bikes with mechanical speedos seem to have their cable unattached for 11 months of the year 😳🤔

It is a fashion these days for people to "own" motorcycles but not necessarily "ride" them...😉

Still experts though ....😆

Unless its pissing down, (they call me the butterfly)😎 ….mine are out at least every couple of weeks. When I was working, my 1200GS was used most days. why would you own anything and not use it, what’s the point.

Ridden a couple of these as loaners. I remember the feedback through the bars was "remote" due to the rubberised fittings that were used to reduce engine vibes (The one I had may have had slightly loose bolts - the bars seemed to move slightly independantly.... )

The other thing I remember mainly was getting extremely wet hands (more so than with a completely unfaired bike). I can only hypothesise that the aerydynamics over the bars from the fairing were slightly off. :nenau

Great bikes with a simple flat bar conversion, just drill the top yoke & add a pair of clamps. Most are quite cheap now.
Two things come to mind:
1- servo brakes
2- they get very hot when idling and the hot downpipes damage the lower fairing mounts (they can melt in worst case scenario)
3- a nice low seat, not so comfy for long legs.
