I rode John Nicholson’s bike for a couple of hundred miles last week and I was really impressed with the it. The only and I mean only downside was lack of wind protection and I’m sure there’ll be a slightly larger cowl available at some point. Cracking engine, which I could swear has a heavier flywheel than the LC’s, lovely ergonomics and I found myself characterising it as a Gentleman’s Grand Tourer - no f’ing clue where the ‘gentleman’ bit came from but hey ho. In contrast I got to ride Johnny Boxer’s Venerable old 1150GSA today and engine wise, lots of the same DNA in terms of feel. I handed it back to him along with the armchair, pipe and slippers that it comes with

. But back to the R12 G/S - lovely bike and I am definitely or even defiantly tempted.
