R12 G/S Enduro

I'm about to collect a used R12 G/S up from a none BMW dealer who doesn't appear to know what he has in terms of packs and items fitted to the bike. The bike has the Whiz Wheel and digital display but no phone holder (think Sp Connect make them) and the dealer is unable to tell me if it has the Connected Ride Control. Is there anyway to know in the menu system or do bikes only with the option come with the Whiz Wheel please?
If you take the vin to a BMW dealer I’m sure they’ll be able to tell.

Tried that they couldn't say. Told me what else it had fitted, everything was listed individually as in not the comfort pack, pillion pack but the connected ride control they couldn't confirm. Do you find out by just using the connected ride app and bluetooth connecting to the bike or does the mount offer anything that the likes of a quad lock or similar mount does. If I just use my existing peak design mount and bluetooth connection will the whiz wheel work?

If you are not able to play with the bike yet, look to see if there is a Bluetooth module plugged in to the loom. Connector is on the near side just below the tank.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago. 6 months old with 2300km on the clock.
It's the enduro variant & has Comfort, Enduro Pro & Pillion packages & digital dash
In addition it has the GPS bracket, engine bars & a Unit Garage rear rack fitted
I wasn't sure it would work well as a main bike but it's feckin fabulous :D

I rode John Nicholson’s bike for a couple of hundred miles last week and I was really impressed with the it. The only and I mean only downside was lack of wind protection and I’m sure there’ll be a slightly larger cowl available at some point. Cracking engine, which I could swear has a heavier flywheel than the LC’s, lovely ergonomics and I found myself characterising it as a Gentleman’s Grand Tourer - no f’ing clue where the ‘gentleman’ bit came from but hey ho. In contrast I got to ride Johnny Boxer’s Venerable old 1150GSA today and engine wise, lots of the same DNA in terms of feel. I handed it back to him along with the armchair, pipe and slippers that it comes with :-). But back to the R12 G/S - lovely bike and I am definitely or even defiantly tempted.

Your Tuareg 660 was great to ride

Bit of a request as Im in two, three or four minds what to go with, Auxiliary lights, what would peoples choice be and does anyone have pics of the old R80 G/S with a yellow spotlight fitted? Had a 40 ton truck decide I was invisible this week on a roundabout which was an interesting moment so Im going with the assumption spotlights may have helped him see what he was about to squash.

I really like them , I did 3000 miles round Europe last year and they were good in both dry and very wet conditions
Thanks for the pic, did you fit a sound bomb anywhere? Ive fitted a mini where the original horn was but after lifting the tank I wondered how much of that void was usable.

@Jockser
Not wishing to detract from your post, nor the thread, but your excellent photo on a great day reminded me...
R.I.P. Liam Horner🙏
"...using these same Wicklow roads as his training base, out and back from his home in Monkstown. Horner never rode any of major tour yet racked up a stack of wins, including the Irish road race title in 1971, plus the Tour of Ireland the following year, and riding in both the 1968 and 1972 Olympics.

Horner also died in tragic circumstances, in 2003, following an accident at work. He was renowned for attacking every prime (from the French word “gift”), those intermediate sprints within a race, hence the inscription “the last prime”, but you ride away wondering if it might mean something else."

I have one of these coming tomorrow so you will have to have a further ride out and see what you think once I have it fitted.......

That looks the ticket John and look forward to seeing it on the bike. I also like the fact that it’s got adjustable height settings. I had the WRS flyscreen on the Tuareg for this last trip, rather than the WRS touring screen and the wind blast was a price worth paying in these temperatures (not to mention the insect mess!), but I couldn’t live with it like that all the time.
