my clutch is gone to clutch heaven . I am having a new clutch put in this week and i have the opportunity of getting a bargain priced ceramic touratech clutch fitted or just to go with a standard disc .The bike is a 2006 standard gs1200 with 18000miles on it . I use it mostly domestically going to work etc and a trip to france / europe once a year for a week . My problem is I'm told i may not like the ceramic clutch as it is too sharp and maybe i should go standard . Any knowledge on this would be appreciated . :aidan

Isn't 18K a bit on the low side for a clutch to burn out? I would have thought 50-60K minimum.

I thought so too . I gave it a bit of a grueling doing the route napolean this summer but thats no excuse . If you browse other forums you will see plenty of other under20000 clutches in trouble . 2006 was not a good year apparently .

58,000 miles on my 2006 GSA clutch...

The one the HP didn't fair so well :D

I went down this route with my 1150 & came to the following conclusion Unless you plan to go off road or desert tracks keep clear, a normal clutch is more than up to everyday use as you said they are sharp in use & hard in normal cut n thrust of our lovely land
