R1250GS Rattling noise

The thing is I think it got louder since it started. Or it catches my attention more often. I have no clue. Ill talk to bmw the next time I go for my interim oil change, and see what they have to say.
I had a replacement engine fitted on my 1250. I would strongly recommend attaching a GoPro to the handlebars and recording the noise, then contacting BMW UK (preferably via X as they respond quickly) and have the dealership inspect the bike. If they can’t diagnose (which they can’t, as it’s a rare fault) then say it’s unsafe to ride a bike with an undiagnosed fault and you want something done about it. Others in this thread are happy to live with the issue, I wasn’t, and I have a new engine in my 20,000km bike!

How many miles do you have now, after replacement?

My guy from the dealership says it's the timing chain tensioner. we'll see next time I'll take it to an interim oil change

and not have the pleasure of letting him discover it himself? i would never. I will let him replace that first then tell him it still reproduces :)
