We obviously know that the GS is the best real road bike period. And yes TORQUE is more important than superficial high hp numbers on top of the power band. But sorry 134hp won't be enough.140 NM torque will put the GS on par with the supercharged Kawasaki 1000 and 1301 KTMs but 140-150 hp on the GS needs to make things more exiting. And that should easily archievable for a manufacturer like BMW who still after 9 nine makes the strongest 1000 cc inline 4...

As for an S-Boxer more exiting than a GS that looks as good and is as practical covering the whole spectrum from occasional trackday, commuting to 2-3 week holiday trip like the R90S or R1100S did in their days , I'm all for it...

Because not everyone likes the GS and it might attract some younger folks into the fold...hope it will be true.
Otherwise the R 1299 XR will do....

Can't wait for the shows in Germany and Italy this fall...prepare to be disappointed...
But otherwise what is out there ? Nothing !
The Multilala that really doesn't handle with chain and expensive to maintain and fragile valvetrain ?
The KTM's that are so long geared that the beast feals more like a Cheshire cat and a chassis that feels like riding a hobby horse ?
And Triumph,Harley,M-G,Aprilia and the Japanese Four have really Nothing worth thinking about ! Unless you see the new H-D GS called Pan American new for 2020 that would have been a competitor in 1987...
So BMW better get's it right come fall
