How many years have people been blaming the beancounters for dropping quality........... how do they respond ?

They outsource even more production of components and parts to India and China and cause even more issues - or have we forgotten about the 310 delay,750/850 incidents or the issues with Rallye wheels already.

It is not the bean counters fault , it is because due to the popularity of the GS ranges that BMW know they can continue to cut production costs and standards and get way with it.

BMW is rapidly becoming a company with excellent ideas and designs that are being spoilt with the manner in which they are brought to reality

You bought one for about 6 weeks. Absolute bollocks did you.

What , why didn't I , I have lots of bikes and decided to give the KTM a go , and as said , its not for me .I have the funds to buy bike as and when I feel , so take a step back before you state that I have not. I gave it good go as you once said , I put my money where my mouth is and tried it , not for a few hours but weeks and found its not as good as the gs.
Good if you wish to show off how good you are in a straight line ( was good ) but thast boring and soon looses its appeal.
Handling wise the bike was not complete or even close to the way the BM handles over many road surfaces ( it was good on big open roads but the front end gets light and also the fairing wobbles about and once on back roads it struggled )
That's why going back to the original post the BM will be the all the better with more power, even tho its better than all the rest already.

Seen what .No substance in your reply or should we say spat

I thought Boxerlust had the BMW butt plug shoved firmly up his arse but then you come along and exceed all expectations .

Blimey you are a bit of a twat , do you actually ride a bike or do you sit all day on forums giving your pearls of wisdom out.
Our comments are based on reality , actual real riding and comparisons , you just seem to pop up like a boil.

Now I know that you’re either lying about having one, or you’re not a very good rider, if you think they don’t handle well.

So which KTM did you “buy for a few weeks” then?

It's been quite fun reading all the comments on here...........

The more things change the more they stay the same when it comes to BWM owners :D

In my 40 odd years of riding bikes all they ever go on about is how practical the bikes are, how they are good at this, good at that...................
It's all true of course. They ARE brilliant bikes. Brilliant two up. Brilliant at mile munching. Handle ok etc etc.
I rode GS's for ten years, did some 'proper' shit on them and it did it all with aplomb :thumb2

But...............my fecking god it was boring. It was a tool. A great tool. A fecking boring tool.

No soul you see, that was the problem. No character, no rough little edges. No engagement for the rider.
If I want that I use the car.

I'm now happier with my main bike that I ever was with the GS. I've spent a bit of time and money getting it how I want it and it now handles beautifully. Off road it handles like a proper dirt bike, not a road bike that 'can go off road', a proper dirt bike.

It scares me and makes me laugh in equal measure when I open up the throttle. My wife isn't as comfy on the back as she was on the GS but she's still comfy enough and she now urges me to go faster when we hit the twisties as opposed to nodding off on the back:)

It's still a bit rough around the edges but as I iron them out so I build a closer bond with the bike. I'll never get rid of them all but like any exciting relationship it's never gonna be perfect yet you forgive it all the same 'cos when it's good it's really fecking good.

So yeah, horses for course I guess.

MWB owners value sold, reliable tools. Excellent dealer back up with free coffees.

The rest of us value passion, character and soul.

Enjoy your 1250 boxers ladies :thumb

I had wondered but for the record , I did not start it only the original thread. So as a result may be best to close .
