I've been playing around with the BMW connected app.
I see it records among other things, your maximum lean angles on a ride.
As I'm new to the bike, I'm wondering what lean angles others have recorded. On my ride today it gives me L30 R 31. Clearly I didn't lean it much at all on a fairly gentle tootle. How far could you lean before dragging a footpeg or centre stand?

On my GS it showed 46deg when the stand touched. I've not touched down on the GSA yet but had 43deg when I was using the Connected app.

Wonder if it records angles of 90 degrees,ie sliding down the road .

The sports screen ( which you all have, but is hidden and can be activated by GS911) , shows lean angle .
Just saying .

My lean angle indicator on my Yamaha is the patented and 100% reliable toe/tarmac interface system.

Ultra reliable and is operated by the modem link from the right hand to the main ECU in the brain.

When the main brain ECU detects the previously mentioned toe/tarmac interface, there is a red light which flashes in the frontal lobe ECU controlling the vision and a slow and generally controlled alteration (unless there is a tractor coming the other way) of lean angle to a more acceptable level is done to ensure safe corner transit.

If this highly accurate lean angle system is either ignored or disconnected, a rapid uncontrolled disassembly of man and machine generally occurs.

Hope that helps.

This ^ - - is WORD 👍
I remember , many years ago making an almost fatal mistake ,, France , fine morning , full of the joys ,, moving along a rural twisty/ hilly road at a “ Spirited “ pace Honda ST 1300 and getting distracted by checking the rear mirror and doing a double take that there was an ancient bike/ guy boneshaker antique bike right behind me , putting on some more gas then Relooking just before the next sharp bend . When I looked back I had run 2 feet OVER the line - heading for the bonnet of a grey Merc ( drivers eyes looked like saucers) - pull the bike right down onto the road “ DONT LOOK AT IT , LOOK AT THE ESCAPE ROUTE !!
Peg touches down ,and down and more down ,,, there is NO more down left , foot is squashed off onto road ,, bike stand and feck knows what else is down and Grinding ,,,,,,,,, BUT it goes round ,
Dry warm road ,,,, Bridgestone BT 02 tyres ,,,, save us from becoming a bonnet mascot .
Dunno what the lean angle was ,, - well into brown keck numbers I think !
What a Pranny ,

My XT has a similar system, developed over a fair few years

To answer the OPs question. My GS is the factory low version and the pegs touch down at about 45 degrees from memory.

As above , Toe Tarmac Interface , has worked a treat for donkeys years without electronic little Willy bragging rights 😂😂😂

My mate dropped his 1250 GS in France, panniers on, the bike recorded 61 degrees iirc....
