R1300/1400 GS wish list?

I want to see quadruple black, `cos triple black just doesn`t cut it anymore.

Automatic suspension drop when you come to a stop.
Electric screen.

It will have these.

Changes include:

- electronic height adjustment
- improved Enduro mode
- central locking like on Ks and RT
- electric adjustment for the windshield
- configurable adaptive light
- rear radar
- M carbon package

You will be still be able to choose Exclusive, Rallye or TB styles, there will be the two familiar spoked wheel designs plus a forged Enduro wheel and a 719 wheel options, same selection of seats as now, and, surprisingly, it appears it'll keep a separate GPS unit setup.

How about decent paint , build quality and developing the thing properly before selling it to the public so "we" are not acting as their beta testers

You ruled one out then? :D

Probably the best thing they could do would be to bring in a 1,000cc GS Boxer that had shed a lot of weight and was designed for doing big miles on all kinds of terrain but that’s so far away from what the majority of buyers today expect from a GS that it’s not even remotely possible.

As a clue they could make a Desert X as opposed to the latest Multistrada and that’s the only thing that would make me consider buying a new GS.

Just about to post something similar. Why do bike manufacturers have to go bigger and bigger.

3.0 litre bikes in 5 years time?

Why would they do that when the lemmings keep buying them regardless of quality. :nenau

1300 gs

With the spy shots and speculation about the imminent arrival of the new GS/GSA
I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to see added , removed or improved over the current bike.
I’ve had my first GS for a little over 18 months and 10000 miles and whilst I’m pretty happy with it there are some bits that will be on my letter to Santa. It’s not a long list.

I’d like BMW to put some serious work into making the quick shifter operate like the one on the XR or maybe a DCT version, I had a DCT Crosstourer and the gearbox was amazing.

Change the pillion pegs so that the rubber part is properly secure, my wife hurt herself when the grip twisted on the peg and she fell from the bike, cheap and piss poor IMO. Fitted Puig pegs and sorted it but shouldn’t have to.

Little more space under the seat would be nice, just enough to keep a puncture repair kit on the bike all the time maybe.

I think that’s about it.

I don’t think it needs more power or tech.

Be interested to hear what other more GS experienced owners think BMW should do to improve the bike.

Better build quality plus the option to buy/order a bike without all the electronic shite:blast like i could years ago.

Power screen
17 inch wheels
Loads of carbon

21” front wheel and about 50kg off!

Oh and radar cruse control, blind spot monitors and a seat that is actually comfortable.

The later GS do so many things well. Fabulous all-day comfort, plenty fast enough (for what it is), excellent braking, etc. Really good bike for adventure tours.
Let down by poor cost-cut build quality. My 2018 has had more issues than any of my older BMW bikes over the last 30 years. Needs better build quality. No more chocolate cam shafts, wheels that bend easily, regular error message on TFT, etc...

YES!!

And a weight reduction would be better, then there's no need for more power..

1300 gs

Correction 11years ago with the 1200 Hexhead & no ABS to go wrong. Suspect I may regret trading in my 2012 R1200GSA, no electronics or ABS.

Well said thats exactly what i have done, after 2 x 1250 s i have went back to a twin cam, quiet motor,an ignition key,no power modes,no phone connectivity problems, and adjustable suspension, dont get me wrong the 1250 is very good to ride but to much electronic rubbish fitted.

for me, the main thing would be a quieter engine when hot on tickover , other than that i am quite happy with my 2021 GSA

had to go back and correct four spelling mistakes in that one sentance,,,lol,,, i am on my fourth large glasses of ledaig :beerjug::beerjug: a happy and blessed christmas to all

I love my 1250...think the only extra id ask for was back lit handlbar controls...and maybe a spot more torque because im a greedy twat :thumby:

Something like this, 35/40kg lighter. Or a Megamoto, would take either. Cash waiting. ;)

Whatever it is I have no interest in buying any new motorcycle for which the manufacturer does not make available a proper service manual and service information.
