2026Dealer told me to expect mine in ‘mid Feb’
Now updated to ‘end of Feb’Dealer told me to expect mine in ‘mid Feb’
I’ve now been told maybe mid March, maybe later - actually not really 100% sure. It seems BMW Motorrad are not in control of their own supply chain - very frustrating. Now updated to ‘end of Feb’![]()
I think the R1300GS vario topbox fits the GSA carrier and is availableThe latest information that I have received is that the BMW GS Adventure Top Case in either colour is unlikely to be available for delivery until end May/June.
Panniers however are coming through now in both colours.
Pannier lid extenders have currently no estimated delivery date.
Decided to go with Lone Rider Motocase & BMW OEM Panniers.
Thanks for the heads up - my dealer sadly has no idea what’s going on with the top box. I am going to get Bumot kit instead. I have tours planned in April and June. The latest information that I have received is that the BMW GS Adventure Top Case in either colour is unlikely to be available for delivery until end May/June.

As I mostly just use the Top Case (Panniers fitted for touring only) the Lone Rider MotoCase is 42 Litres which will suit my purpose a little better with the extra capacity.I think the R1300GS vario topbox fits the GSA carrier and is available
You’re most welcome. I very nearly went down the Bumot route myself but found out a Shoei Neotec helmet will not fit the Bumot 45 litre panniers, as most of my riding is with a pillion this was a deal breaker for me.Thanks for the heads up - my dealer sadly has no idea what’s going on with the top box. You make a very good point. I have coming next week the Lone Rider MotoCase 42 litre (which should work ok with the BMW OEM Panniers for the 1300 GSA). Once fitted I will go to my BMW dealer and attach the panniers to make sure it all works in harmony!!Careful what top box you buy. Dealers let me a Vario top box, it’s wider, so the pannier lids catches it when opening .

slightly related to the top box thread but can anyone tell me why the top box plate ´´wobbles´´ ? Those that have one will understand what i mean. The plate is fixed but is able to move side to side latterly a few cm and is spring loaded to do this.
I was told it had to do with the aerodynamics?
what aerodynamics?
I was checking out the Vario topbox yesterday as the dealer recommend trying one of these as the GSA topbox isn't yet available. I thought that the pannier lids may catch the Vario topbox, I was going to try one when I collect my bike on Wednesday, but it looks like you've saved me the trouble!Careful what top box you buy. Think it’s to reduce the effect of wind on the top box, one of the other manufacturers has done the rear panniers floating, think it’s KTM or Triumph maybe
KTM Adventure Panniers & the matching Top box for the 1290 SAS (21 on) float, it’s supposed to help with stability. (Other non-floating top boxes are also available from KTM ).Think it’s to reduce the effect of wind on the top box, one of the other manufacturers has done the rear panniers floating, think it’s KTM or Triumph maybe
