R1300GS / the good the bad & the ugly

I sat on a TB and it was definitely higher in that the knee angle was better fort me at 6 ft 5

It looks as though the one you tried has a low seat fitted

With the standard seat the one I tried felt the same as my 1200 if not slightly better, but that could be due to a better seat or the narrower tank, it’s hard to say really just based on feeling

It doesn’t, I was replying to the post where he said the TB is higher, obviously the suspension doesn’t effect the seat to peg distance ;)

but if the one he tried had a low seat it would feel lower when he put his feet down

Good for you, and it passed the wife test! I'm thinking about either a base white one or possibly a more optioned Trophy. Also in the mix is the new Stelvio so I'm waiting to find out more about it.
 
Arsey you are full of sheet when you say 68% percent is made in China when BMW took the engine castings for the 1250 back from Gilardoni in Italy back to Germany…But looking at the crazies in Europe with boycotts and war and CO2 BS I would be not too surprised when the production will go to the only country in europe with affordable energy prices and where no crazies run the industry off which is Russia ! They have a long tradition making the good old R75…LOL KTM is already making lot of their bikes in China and Triumph is made in Thailand…That is a fact ! Good that Volkswagen keeps Ducati in Italy for now…
 
Can’t see why some dealers let out a basic model , the full fat is better for you to see the reason for the development of the brand . The basic will suit some tho who prefer the simple things with a stonking motor, the electric screen is superb and the high low is a nice addition.

The one I tried had everything possible apart from the sport suspension

Gives you a chance to try stuff to see if you want it or not

Only thing missing was a top box, I did try with vario boxes on
 
Stick…Definitely full option ! But I dont need the radar/cruise but wait for 155 hp and 6gal/24liter tank to make it worthwhile to upgrade from the still superb 1250..!
 
Besides that I cant believe that besides all the influencer blabla there is still no hard data on the new vs the old on weight , mpg , dyno and roll-on…What are they waiting for ?!

BMW have been refining the GS for decades and it still only makes 145bhp.
Suzuki release the GSX-S1000GX and it’s 154bhp out of the box, 5kgs lighter and £1000s cheaper.And its has 17” WHEELS !!!! Wankfest !!!!!
Much better for Mexico and doesn’t look like Louis Walsh with his arms crossed.

I've ordered a TE Pure/white and optioned up with exception of the inovation pack/radar, wasn't just a cost saving just didn't like the other colours, or indicators on handguards. White will seem quite plain after the GSA hp but as a package its what I want, tank capacity will be fine, the GSA held more fuel but a quick stretch and one or two more stops is going to be more beneficial overall.
 
Exhaust Valve
My misfit mate noticed the exhaust valve, whilst still built into the exhaust system, is now horizontal rather than vertical. Maybe that will cure of a few squeaks.
 
Arsey I take the S1000XR 10 times over the Suzuki or Kaeasaki 1000 sport tourers or the MT9/10 crap Yamaha puts out…Much better bike and much better package ! I include the Not ready to race 1290 Super Duke GT in that list,too…LOL For the missing centerstand and crappy power delivery nothing,nothing to 6000 then too much and by 9000 the rev limiter hits so hard that you think someone stepped on the brake for you not to forget on backroads it feels like a canoe that rather goes straight than likes to turn while the XR puts the power on very easy and just builds it above 7000 and like the GS turns like a Dyson…!
