R1300GS / the good the bad & the ugly

Back to the 1300 GS…The Vario luggage does not give as much to the exhaust but top box included is 5 liters smaller to the old Vario and a whopping 18 liters smaller compared to the aluminum bags/top case ! Not good…
 
Encourages you to take less shit with you, I couldn’t fill the full size alloy luggage if I tried, and be damned if I’m putting a deliveroo topbox on any of my bikes regardless of how “convenient” they are.
 
G&T…Looking at the big bread box where the transmission used to be my guess is even with a open slip on the new 1300 GS will sound as lame as a 1290 Ktm or MS V4…For good sound that ugly thing has to go or the valve kept permanently open…!
 
GB…I rather decide how much I want to take instead of let others dictate me…I remember when I had my 1250 Adventurer I only put in 19 liters…LOL
 
Oh yes a center stand sucks compared to the 2 kilos you save without it…Totally useless…LOL I wonder why BMW did not decrease the tank size to 10 liters like most motocross bikes have and they could have advertised another 7 kilos of weight savings…LOL No bags would have increased the sport cred like the idiots hunched over on their superbikes with a back pack on going on rides hating life while the guy on a S1000XR blows by them with hard bags and centerstand weighing in 30 kilos heavier on paper and having a less sporty 20 instead of 17 liter tank…LOL
 
Who gives a hoot how fast or slow you are? For every person you are quicker than there is someone quicker than you. I’ve seen guys and girls on little bikes tear big bike owners a new arsehole as soon as the straight finishes, when it comes to riding fast it’s all about the rider, virtually everything above a 700 is more than enough for the road. Unless you live next to an autobahn in Germany.
 
What a boring show the EICMA was as Nothing to ignite your interest the new GS included but the one eyed is still the king amongst the blind…LOL Honda has a new 600 CBR yawn and a E-clutch for people better off not being on a motorcycle…Suzukis new 1000 XR looks “interesting” to be polite and with the small bags that wont even fit a full size helmet you can go 81 mph max…KTM has a new headlight on the 990 and Ducati puts Desmo heads on the MS and wants 40 grand for it if you option the bags…Not to mention all the crap from China…LOL And still no real numbers 1254 vs 1300 GS…I wonder why ?!
 
I thought it looked pretty good with a new T700 from Yamaha and Honda having a new 450 rally, plus some other rally stuff. But we are all different looking for different things
 
I guess I am getting too old…Lot of entry level bikes from China and of course from Japan as they have lost the higher end of the market which is great if you are 18 and actually have a job that pays…LOL But for us older jaded experienced phuckers with the means to actually buy a bike…Slim pickings as the real excitement and emotions or Lust is not really there…I remember when I had a Puch Maxi and I saw and heard a CBX for the first time and gave me wood…I guess these day are long gone and will never come back unless the M1400GS will be the answer to all prayers…LOL
 
GB…I guess you missed the MV Agusta or is it already KTM Lucky Explorer for the Urban Adventurers…Useless but good looking for sure !
 
Would someone by chance have a cork for the snorkel of information, perhaps if inserted it may , and I do say may , allow us to continue our deliberations in an adult and tosserish way . Anyone have a spare cork … please …PLEEEESE
