R1300GS / the good the bad & the ugly

Arsey in black with the Touratech sticker in front of the radar box it is only half as bad…Wonder when TT brings a 24 liter tank and uncorks the ECU to raise the rpm ceiling and give it another 10 hp…LOL Triple Black in combination with the black forged wheels would be the way to go unless TT brings out the John Player Special sticker kit that would go well with the gaudy gold wheels…LOL Aluminum bags are a must to as the new varios look weird and are way too small for a touring bike !

You mentioned the new XR with the almost 20 year old GSXR K5 engine putting out 150 hp from Suzuki…That thing is 21 grand with tax here…19 liter tank , chain , the bags another 6 liters smaller than the already too small vario bags and ugly as sin…Warning label 130km/h max with bags…What a joke and that is probably the most interesting bike coming out of Japan in 2024…LOL

It’s a GX .

Best bike for me too, I've just put this on watts app group! then this pops up....a bike that you can wring its neck round the twisties

agreed....you cant pretend to be Wayne Rainey on it though:D, not sure , wore my last set of gillies of the 1250 , and the tyre in sub 2k , so I think you can hussle a Gs very well on the twisty roads , leave the straight to the pilots ..
Im not so sure , wore the pucks of the Gilles and the body of the pegs , set of boots sub 2K . a Gs is very , very capable of the twisty roads , but I leave the straights to the Cargo Pilots. I have had some great runs with the locals in Spain , some on SMs , brilliant balance of torque vrs weight lol.

Had a trial run today whilst my 1250GS was having its supa dupa headlight fitted - it's only taken a year.

I've had GS's since 1999 and have had 4 GSA's and 4 GS's and I believe the 1300 is a big improvement. My current TB is a low chassis and the 1300 feel even lower when stationary. It also feels lighter than just the 12kg claimed. I was a little concerned about it being more compact, one of the attractions of the GS is that my wife and I are not squashed together, neither of us are svelte, but my worries were unfounded, the bike feelbs smaller but its just as spacious. Loved the adaptive cruise control and suspension auto lowering. Not bothered about the electric windscreen, I'd probably leave it fully up all the time (I'm 6'1") and I'd definitely want to fit lowered footrests. Gearshift is much improved as is the quick shift, particularly going down through the gears. Don't like the rear lights arrangement, I think it's dangerous, but it's easily fixed by after market bits, as are the front indicators. Also not keen on the new various panniers & top box, bloody expensive (£1400) and awkward shape. Apparently if you order one now you'll get it next March. I liked it but will wait for the beta testers to sort out the niggles and BMW to add the bits they've held back for the 1st update 😀

I’m sure that’s what Richard Rogers said when designing Lloyd’s of London and comparing the 1250 and 1300 I like seeing the engineering rather than covering it all up. Maybe the 1300 will be easier to clean though :D

Did you notice the whine from the gearbox,I found it a bit annoying but I ordered one anyway.😁

The Yamaha XSR 900 looks like a fake vintage racer to me…What a joke ! But oh well a few old men will buy it pretending its the real thing to clueless bystanders saying the 2 stroke sounds so cool like a fake Rolex…LOL But this is about the new GS…The one that should have had 10 hp more and a 4 liter bigger instead of 1 liter smaller tank…LOL I will take my luggage rack , center stand , passenger pegs off , get me a lithium battery and click the nozzle off a little earlier and the 1250 is 6 kilos lighter too…LOL Looking at the pictures from the side the 1300 looks like a shetland pony compared to the old horse to me…But still a little bit better than a G310GS…LOL Actually the triple black from TeuerTech is not bad at all even without the John Player Special decals…LOL The gold rims have to be replaced by the black forged ones making it the quadruple black…LOL

Don't you get bored posting the same shit time after time? 🤡

I have said nothing about the fake 2 stroke Yamaha before and have to admit being bored with the new GS despite loving boxers and BMW still being my favorite brand…As all I voice here is constructive criticism…Free speech , use it or loose it !

You been on the vino again ?

Arsey I dont drink vino but only good german Hefeweizen,Schnaps,Vodka & Tequila...Nice carafe though...Hope your boyfriend was not too insulted being not as well endowed...LOL But it goes well with the new street legal fake 1993 500 GP vintage-racer from Yamaha...LOL All said about the new GS...I wait for the upgrade 5 years from now where we finally get 155 hp and a 16 liter tank to save another 2 kilos...LOL Wonder if there is a test embargo from BMW still have not seen any hard numbers and comparo 1250 vs 1300 GS !?? Also these Jootubers are useless as they could have put the old vs the new one together and did some 62 to 125mph roll-ons , put them on a scale ,did a mpg run switching riders to make it fair and took it on the Autobahn with bags and topcase to see if it wobbles at 141 mph top speed....62 side by side to Zero with the clutch pulled in to see if the new sport calipers and 5 mm bigger discs make a real world difference would have been nice too.But a big fat...Nothing so far !
