My vote for the blue and red version, followed by the blue one - Not that it matters, it's your bike!
red and white. I would stop them a similar distance from the end of the panel and allow white on all edges (bit like the bike panels). And with red. I dont quite have the correct colour of red. And I dont want to buy a full roll of vinyl so for now this will have to do.
I like it plain white. But I will use it with the red and blue stripes for a while and see if it grows on me.

I personally like the look of that scheme. And with red. I dont quite have the correct colour of red. And I dont want to buy a full roll of vinyl so for now this will have to do.

All the parts are available to convert the Sport version to accept panniers, it's the same with the S1000XR and the M1000XR, all the parts can be had from BMW to fit panniers to the RS & MXR. for the MXR its about £600 for the individual parts at retail prices but some BMW dealers are offering a special deal on the parts required as a package if you're buying the panniers as well.I'm on the brink of buying the 1300RS... currently umming and ahhing over spec, low miles 2025 or new from the showroom (don't think my patience could cope with 8 to 10 week lead time on factory orders).
Local dealer (UK) says he's sure BMW are working on a solution to allow for a touring pack for the 'Performance' spec RS - anyone shed more light on that?
TIA
I stopped on my way home from work and made a quick video to show the panniers and install etc.
I set the video to private so it'll only work on this link.
Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see on it.
//////////////Yes, from the rear 1/4 area the bike looms stubby with luggage. I dont ride with it daily. Only if I'm going somewhere and need to leave my jacket and helmet. Or collecting something etc.
The white and red are on the panniers is just vinyl wrap. It peels off early.
I like the RS because, especially the Performance model, its firmly at the sports end of touring. On Dynamic Pro, manually change the damping and TC etc. It really comes alive . But on Road mode, and back off the damping to -2 its comfortable and soft but beautifully controlled.
For me its the midrange I find strong. 4-7k. Rather than top end. But yes i agree. The 1250 is also good. Not a night and day difference between them. Just some small refinements etc. If I had a late model 1250 I'm not sure a change to the 1300 is enough to match the price difference. But I think I posted this before but- the price of a low KM 2022 1250RS here wasnt massively cheaper than a new 1300.
I do like the 1300 719 in grey. I almost bought one. But I hesitated as the new price was high and looking at the display bike i was paying for billet pack that I want too fussed about. I liked the 719 colour and bike but not to pay for machined engine covers and levers etc. Then this Performance came up with the panniers so did the deal as it was year end and they were pushing to hit targets so got a good deal.
Genuinely. There are times I absolutely love it. Literally the perfect all round bike. 300km days but can still play in the hills and it handles and feels good in Dynamic Pro. But can ride home with music playing, heated seat and grips, cruise on and Road mode plushness. Headlights light up the road like the sun. Cornering light are brilliant when its dark with no street lights.
But I also took my bosses old 600 Bandit out for 20mins. Cheap Quil end can etc. And thought- why do I have a bike 10x the price of this .
Overall. Happy with the RS. For example I'm going to Jerez to watch MotoGP next month. 5 hour round trip and actually looking forward to it.
It would be good to have a list of all the required additional parts required for fitting of the touring kit to the 'Performance' spec RS.Yes exactly. The panniers can be fitted. It needs some parts changed to convert it. For example the pillion peg hangers are different as they have an extra tab to hold the bottom pof the pannier case etc.....
Don't be such a big Puff and buy one you big Puff instead of listening to strangers on the Internet.'Decent dealer' ..........hmmm, not so common in the uk - especially ones willing to go against BMW doctrine ;-)
No, the Configurator still doesn't allow the Touring Pack with the Performance spec....
