Just shows Your Confidence in Your Work. Other than the shakedown ride, to jump on it and deliver it. Hats off to you John , someone has a great bike.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain overnight last night but thankfully the R65 was tucked up underneath a waterproof cover

Woke up to light rain showers today so got the bike packed between showers

Had breakfast and headed off towards Cavan via the R roads and then planned to go to Athlone then onto Sligo

20 minutes in and the heavens opened , absolutely torrential rain for about 30 minutes , thankfully the bike didn’t miss a beat and we pushed through it

Stopped for fuel and got about 10 minutes down the road and noticed the indicators weren’t working nor the horn , lights were all fine

Looking for somewhere to pull over another thunderstorm comes in , eventually found a road bridge and pulled in under that . Removed the roll bag and panniers , lifted the seat and unclipped the petrol tank retainer . Lifted the front of the tank to get to the electrical connectors and found the red multi plug from the LHS switchgear was slightly dislodged . Re-seated it and normal service was resumed . Re attached the luggage got my helmet on and the thunderstorm had passed and the sun was shining . If it all went straight forward it wouldn’t be an adventure LOL . Sat in Costa coffee now in Cavan contemplating the next location for the day

Yesterday was the extreme heat test.
Today is the wet testing.

Hopefully you've now had the worst of the rain for the next few days. It's been wetter up here too earlier than expected so hopefully it's now blown through for you.

Just remember, it's Ireland. It's not rain, just liquid sunshine.

Yep , the R65 is coping well with all weathers , rider is doing OK thanks to Gortex waterproofs

Just stopped in Sligo for lunch . Heading North next up to near Buncrana for tonight’s stopover

Bike now tucked under its cover for the night

Head to Malin Head in the morning and then follow the Northern Ireland Coastal route down to hand the bike over to its new owners . Will re torque the heads and check the valve clearances on Wednesday and then hopefully have a run out .

Got the R65 over to its new owner and had a ride out to meet Dr Farkoff over at the Rhinka on Island Magee . I had a ride of my old K1200LT that I sold 5 years ago - it still rode and looked great :-)

Wednesday morning re torqued the heads and adjusted the valve clearances on the R65 and fitted new rear brake pads on the K1200

A run into Belfast to see some of the sights , fish & chips lunch and then off for an afternoons riding around the Sperrin area

Up early this morning and a flight to Newcastle

Thanks to Brian for a straightforward sale and for putting me up for a couple of nights and looking after me so well

I look forward to my next visit and servicing your fleet of bikes ;-)
