R80TIC Winter Project

Collected the powder coating today so some progress was made. Meanwhile Andy is progressing with the exhaust.

Just have to sort out the ignition (wiring and location) and speedo connection to the G/S loom.

Andy has worked his magic on the exhaust, it just needs to be welded up, so it will be ready next week. The actual bike is taking shape in the workshop, still loads to do but nice to see it coming together.

That's one set of confusing photos.

I think I've worked it out now!
I collected the blue tank from Andy after I had looked at the exhaust. Then refitted it to my bike to check the electrics fitted under the tank…..just checking that you are paying attention.

Liking where you are going with this Colin, love the blue tank, very classy. Looking forward to the finished article.

I managed to get a complete rear wheel from Germany, stripped that, and gave the hub to Mikey for a quick clean up. So both hubs are off, with some new Borrani rims, to be re built.
The electrics are all done with the exception of the connections from the Acewell to the G/S harness and the RH switch gear. I’ve had to change my plans for the RH switches. The ignition is now going to be fitted into the starter motor cover and not in the headlight, so I thought a kill switch on the handlebar would be a good addition.

That’s going to be a great bike Colin :okay

Popped over to Andy’s today to collect the exhaust. Managed to get it fitted to the actual bike, very happy with the finished result.
