R90s Electrical Issues

My R90s has been off the road for a few years, so decided to have a go at recommissioning it. Put new battery on and the ignition light came on straight away. Turn on the ignition light dims and oil light glimmers. Other than that all electrics dead. Anyone any ideas,

Check the main relay and the wiring around it.... The relay sits under the petrol tank, front lefthand side.

Just underneth the under the tank front brake master cylinder (great place to locate it), which leaks brake fluid onto the main relay and rots the wiring and connection

Great site this.... within minutes you get an expert (Steptoe) giving free advice as to where to start looking for the cause of your problems.

There's also a path to the ignition light if your diode board is faulty. The ignition switch could have been connected up wrongly. The year of your bike makes a difference, too. It's sad, but I love these issues....

I think this is the area you are looking at. This relay can really suffer with brake fluid on or near it. It might be an idea to remove all the terminals and clean and sand them.This is my 90s bike
