Hi all,

I've seen a set of black spoked R9T wheels with tyres etc and I'm wanting to fit them to my 2019 GSA. I have checked the part numbers of the rims and they are the same for both bikes with the difference of a spacer fitted to the R9T rear wheel which can be removed.

So other than flipping rear tyre around 180 so directional travel of tyre is corrected, the only other difference I can see is the R9T wheels do not come with RDC tyre pressure sensors.

So my questions are..

1) If I fit the wheels as is, will not having a TPMS throw up a warning code on the TFT? (I may swop the sensors over from Gold wheels)
2) If I buy a set of RDC TPMS sensors will they need to be coded to bike? (I see the part number for the sensors covers many many models of BMW bikes) or will they just work? they did on my BMW car when i fitted winter wheels.
3) Has anyone done this? are there any other considerations that I've missed

Cheers as always :beerjug:

I thought the R9T spoked rims had a centre line spoke configuration? Rather then the outside rim style of a GS... the ScramblerX has GS spokes for sure.. but certain the R9T ones are different....

Yes some of them do but below are the ones I've gone for from the Urban GS R9T

I swapped my wheels over twice. I got the TPMS coded at my dealer. I think they charged £25. There is a thread on here that if you do one at a time and ride it round the block it will do it itself. And yes-it will throw a code up on the TFT.

Oh well... I thought it might work but its starting to get expensive as none of the front hub internal are the same :blast

Thank heavens for BMW Real OEM as only by cross referencing every part in the wheel hub did I find out. Even though the actual rim part numbers are the same that's about as far as the match went.

In short the rear wheel will fit fine just remove the spacer. Front wheel needs new axle, bearings, seals spacers etc etc so was going to be cost prohibitive

Thanks for that :beerjug: it looks like a no goer as R9T rims have different internals up front :blast
