Raising R1250GS Adventure to Standard Ride Height – What to Expect?

Hey everyone,

I recently bought an R1250GS Adventure but didn’t realize it was factory lowered – rookie mistake, I know! The dealer didn’t mention the height in the ad, so they’re covering the cost to raise it back to the standard height. I'm wondering what exactly I should expect during this process.

Does anyone know if they’ll need to replace the entire front forks and rear shock, or can they simply adjust the springs internally? I’m aware they’ll have to switch out the side stand and center stand to accommodate the new height, but is there anything else they should be replacing or adjusting?

I’d appreciate any insights, especially from anyone who’s been through this before. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! It seems like only the internals, such as the rod and springs, need to be replaced? Hopefully, that means it won't be too expensive for the dealer to handle!
 
I've just done the opposite and lowered mine, just needs the shock absorbers and stands changed and the electronic preload re-calibrated!

How did you get on with this? I’m looking to do the opposite. Standard height to low.

Just completed putting my 2020 gsa back to standard so I have 2 lowered shocks and both lowered stands for sale..Will be in the for sale section shortly.
May be of interest to you.
Simple process of swopping everything then a calibration with a gs911 and thats it.

Having just recently converted my 2020 R1250gs adventure low to standard height I've have for sale the following items which are ideal for someone looking to lower there normal height gs adventure

Low front shock absorber
Low rear shock absorber
Low center stand
Low sidestand complete with switch and springs

There was just over 22000 miles on the bike when I changed everything and the shocks are in perfect working order.
Few wee age related marks on the stands and couple small marks on the shocks but generally in good to very good condition.
Need a good clean as my bike is coated in...
