they need to build a modern Le Mans.
It's amazed me that they haven't, you would've thought they would have 'cashed in' on the name long ago

they need to build a modern Le Mans.

I have read that the big twins are going out of production this year and Guzzi are consolidating on the 900's.
Anyone heard differently?
My apologies beemerboy. I understand now that you where referring to the 1400 motors, and not just the V twin in general. Difficulties in getting it to meet euro 5 standards and poor sales ( I believe they only made 300 in 2 years) will be the end of it. It's a shame, I had a 1400 California for a while and it was a lovely bike to ride, but my God it was heavy to manhandle.
A new Le Mans based on the V85 motor, now wouldn't that be something and I'm sure many would lust after it. But how many who lusted after it would be able to ride it?
Yes, I noticed the 1400s have disappeared off the MG site. So basically it’s just the one engine in 3 models left - V7, V85TT and V9. Given most big bikes are nudging £20K and are probably out of most people’s reach (except via PCP) maybe it’s a smart move for the next few years. The V85 has done exceptionally well so it makes sense to keep doing what works. We keep thinking of these as midrange bikes but 850cc was a big bike engine not very long ago.
Moto Guzzi 5 speed in this 1937 Ford flathead V8 engined built custom..
That engine looks remarkably compact, courtesy of the side valves I guess.
Hell yes...
Front mudguard is a puzzle..
Any thoughts..

Think because it has spikes/studs on the tyres, to stop buzz sawing through somebody.![]()
