Anyone know where I can buy replacement rat tails from.

The ones I've used came in packs of five as part of a puncture repair kit with all the tools. I just need the plugs not the whole kit. The company I bought the kit off isn't trading any more.

Got one left in this pack.......

Might be of interest

At one of the Thames Valley Tossers meets a few months back, a guy turned up on an 1150 and he was punting a puncture repair outfit that used the same plugs.
I cant remember his name but he runs Frog Island 4x4 in Didcot, he may be worth chasing down.

Possu (steve) would know his name.

Try a bicycle shop........the ones I got were from an for a MT Bike kit. They are good I've had one in me back tyre for about 4,000 miles :D

I've got a few kits left @ £20 each plus postage.

10 strings,
Couple of small patches,
Couple of large patches to patch inside a tyre if needed,
3 CO2 cylinders & flexible tube that screws to valve with piercing tip in the end,
Small craft knife for trimming the strings or tails,
Rasp for roughing up tubes/tyres,
Valve core removing tool,
Glue,
Decent T-handled insertion tool - has individual inserts for roughing up the hole & also for inserting the strings,
Allen key for use on grub screw that retains the above tools,
Spare valve cores & dustcaps,
All of the above comes in a black plastic box measuring (approx) 8"x6"x1.5"

Ideal for slice type punctures caused by sharp rocks when offroading, the strings shape to fit any shape puncture hole & are easier to insert than the hard black rubber bungs found in other kits.

Can't help if you just want strings, try Eddie Priscott here:

Brilliant, just what I was after, thanks :clap

Try your local tyre shop, the best ones do agricultural or industrial repairs.
My local central tyres is good for them.

Did you ever get round to ordering a kit Whatton?

I ask because I ordered one & I'm still waiting for it to arrive. :blast

:augie

I was waiting for my kit to arrive during the mail strike & 4 weeks past & I got nothing!

I e-mailed the sellers & infomed them nothing had been forthcoming.

A few days later my kit arrived. :thumb2

Looks like that was the original kit because today (2 weeks later) another kit has arrived.

 :D

BOGOF! :thumb

Bastard, I waited and got one. Should have winged and whined and got two :blast

The meak will never inherent the earth :(

They are mighty sticky (tacky) little blighters in their own right but the generally accepted practice is to coat them with glue prior to insertion. You should then allow 20mins, ideally, before you inflate he tyre - but that is less critical if it is a small hole you arte plugging.
