Am i reading this right that 1150 gsa panniers cannot be rekeyed ????
Also if i buy paniers without a key how do i get the barrells out to renew them without the original key ???... Or is it best to ask the seller to remove the barrels for me ???
The great guys on the parts desk at Southport BMW did my panniers and topbox for free.
Just included the required bribe of a packet of plain choccy biccies in the topbox
My 1200 has Vario panniers.. (bought from this fine site).
I took the barrels out after reading the "how to" on here.
Then took the barrels to BMW Battersea, who sorted them to match my key.... FREE OF CHARGE, and even made me a coffee while I waited.

I have just rekeyed my panniers without the initial key (but my panniers were unlocked fortunately). Pic guide worked the treat. Super easy. First pannier slow as not wanting to break anything. Second pannier less than a minute.
I seem to remember that even if they are locked it is quite simple to remove lock barrels from both system panniers and 1150 adv ali panniers (not tried 1200s) Drilling out seems rather radical.

Would like to know how to do it, I have a locked system pannier with no key.
Other thing to note, if you are rekeying the locks on system panniers... there are eight wafer slots, counting from the key entry end the eighth slot is for the locking wafer. The seventh slot should be left empty, if you put a wafer in it, although it may appear to be flush, when you fit the lock the key will jam in the lock. Not sure of the reason for this, but lots of messing around with a system pannier this afternoon proved the point.
