Hi,

I've been following the advice of a previous thread on how to fit rear pads.

Now at the last hurdle, of fitting the caliper back with new pads installed.

Pistons are pushed back fully and the pads and are in correctly.

The Caliper floats against a piece of alloy which bolts to the swing arm holding the caliper in place.

I'm having trouble getting the disc between the new pads because the alloy part needs to be over to the right and out of the way a bit more?

Is it possible to move the calliper away (and to the left) from this alloy piece a bit??

I'd post a pic but I can't seem to copy pics directly from my P.C (software asks for URL for hosted pics).

Cheers, Nordkapper.

Normally fits very easily if you've got the pistons fully back and pads installed correctly. I'd post some pics.

On my 1150 i had the same problem but undid the rear brake resevoir and it fitted over the disk easily , re tightern and pump your brakes :bounce1

PS boun to have it wrong , bring it on .................. :blast

Thanks guys,

Now sorted and tested ok.

I think the trick is to move the foating caliper back and fourth a bit on the pins a few times if it won't line up. After this it moved to the position I wanted.

One of the pins was a bit dry of grease too.

Floating calipers / discs are new to me as are many things on this bike (having come from an old 2 valve boxer).

Expect this practice will come in useful one day......

Cheers,
