rear wheel play

had the rear wheel bearing replaced about 4000 miles ago under warranty, its now 2 months out of warranty and there is a slight play again on the vertical. wtf?

should last longer than 4000 miles shouldn't it? Do you think the stealer's going to foot the bill for this one? if not can anyone recommend an Indy in north Yorkshire?

Yes, it should last more than 4,000 miles. Call your dealer - they will probably come up with a solution for you. Mine was done 18,000 miles ago and there's no movement whatsoever.

Are you checking it hot or cold? When cold there should be minimal movement. 1mm at the wheel rim, IIRC

I think its even less than that but there is an official bmw tolerance - have a word with a dealer.

Max tolerance is 1mm at the rim, checked when the bevel box is below 35 degrees IIRC.
