To be fair, he is new so I'd cut him a little bit of slack (although you did tell him how to move the thread which he totally ignored.........).

The real dicks though are those that have posted subsequently letting us know if they have or haven't had their letters / had the work carried out

Ok I'm cutting him some slack. My apologies.

As for the rest of you....... 40 pages in the LC section right at the top.

Cut him some slack?

For Sale - that just screams "Recall of my 1200" to me...

My recall letter came yesterday - a week after Allan Jefferies BMW in Bradford fitted the new stanchion collars

I Had mine checked before I went to Ireland and it was within tolerance they said that I would receive a letter to have the recall done but it was not dangerous, they said that it mainly affects bikes that have been used off road a lot !!
Not had the letter as yet but my mate has for his 2014 GS

Not wishing to drag this to a 38 pager , but I too had a letter today

The crazy thing is , my bike was serviced at 600 miles ( GS rallye new ) forks were checked, everything fine etc etc no problem , I even asked them to put it in writing to me , which they did...Since that service the bike as only done 100 miles ....Ive been away . They now want me to bring the bike back in to check it again ! I spoke to them on the phone and too be on the safe side they said ,bring the bike back !!! the letter states a three hour job ? so it obviously wasn't checked at the service cos that didn't take three hours ! yet the signed letter I have states all is good . So somewhere along the lines I'm getting a crap story and losing a bit of trust in the dealership, which might possibly affect a sale there next time I want a bike...multiply that out a few times and its bad for business

Your check was a precautionary one, this letter is an official document by which BMW are obliged to and MUST fit the collars mentioned in the letter and will require 3 hours to complete the job.

This is my understanding of this letter but correct me if I am wrong.
