Recomend me a pair of waterproof boots??

Daytonas are lovely boots, very comfortable, definitely waterproof, but I've come to prefer what I see as the additional protection of Sidi Adventurers. Downside is the daft name and the squeaking.

TCX Infinity

+1 for TCX Infinity boots - really good quality solid boot with gore-tex
had mine for a year and they are soooo comfy and good to walk in too.

A few months ago on a 7 hr ride down to Somerset from Edinburgh in rain all the way (VERY heavy and windy till Birmingham) my feet were dry and warm the whole way - fair enough - £170 but I think worth it.:thumb2

my daytonas leaked within about 2 years of occasional use. they were refurbed FOC by the manufacturers.

they still leak a bit. sometimes. no rhyme or reason to it. other times i can ride all day in a monsoon and arrive totally dry

more likely water wicking up between the boot & your trousers then running back down into the boot on the days when you don't quite tuck things in properly

only ever seen wet patches on the toe area, and side of foot (could be either side), so i don't think it's that.

Another +1 for TCX Infinity boots. I ride year round most days as I don't own a car. The boots have been totally waterproof and warm. I paid £130 from bikerland.de, £90 less than they were going for in town here.

Highly recommened as they're warm, dry and comfortable to walk in.

Wow Guys!

Thanks for all the reply's, there seem's to be a 3-way split evolving between Daytona's, Altbergs, and TCX Infinity boots

I'm sure they are all perfect for the job in hand, I prefer no too much of an off road type of style boot with the metal buckles, so I'm gonna rule out the TCX, plus I think it may be a bit difficult to get the legs of my gore-tex pants over the top of them with them being a touch longer.

Very close between the Daytona's and the Altbergs and tbh I know this is not very "patriotic" :blush but I think I prefer the Daytona's.

Two reason's really, 1/ they use a proper Gore-Tex liner and 2/ I think the detail that goes into the construction of them is slightly better.

I did a search on You-tube and there's a report on the Daytona Road Stars in there, I was quite impressed with the construction of them ( steel shank in the sole, etc ) and the guy explained that they have a seperate plastic toe cap inside the boot, and the gore tex is over the top of that so that your big toe doesn't wear through the gore tex with the constant gear changing / walking.
Also the flexible area's at the front and rear of the boot are made from kangaroo skin so it flexes better ( well that's what he said anyhow :nenau )

So Road Stars it is for me, hope they will last 5 years plus as they will be winter use only, been using seal skin waterproof socks under my normal road boots up until now but they have also sprung a leak, and my last couple of wet rides have been made with a "squelchy" :( right foot!

Thank's again for all the opinions and leads fella's

I have had a pair of SIDI Canyon's for 5 years now - they have never let a drop of water in, warm enough and easy to walk with. I would like the SIDI Adventure boots but am baulking at the price as I can buy another pair of Canyon's for almost half the price.
