I'm after something small/neat for tyres and to blow dry my bikes after bath night.

Nothing heavy duty.

Any recommendations guys?

Thanks

Eddy

Thanks for the response.

My description probably wasn't very good. I have in mind something that would be garage based and so a little larger than this. Somehting that would run air driven tools or paint spraying equipment. Although right now I don't need to do either of those things :o

Can recommend either

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/tiger/path/airmaster-2

or

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/p.../path/diy-semi-professional-air-compressors-2

there both the same model, I used the Airmaster one over the last few years to power my air tools while I built an extension onto the house. been a workhorse nothings went wrong with it, it'll power a framing gun, most air drill type tools, spray guns but realistically only for small areas, spray guns take a awful lot of air to use properly

the only thing I would say is go for a 'Oil' version NOT 'Oil less' as there quiter and have longer run times
8 bar is more than enough for general use once you start going higher than this the price increases dramatically
If you can get a 50L receiver that would be good (better for the spray gun application) but 25L is the minimum you want too go.

As a side bar, a leaf blower makes a great bike blow dryer, gets water out of all those nooks & crannies....:thumb2

I've used a Screwfix £99 compressor with only a 10 liter receiver for 5 years!!
absolutely perfect,:thumb2 for bigger jobs I connect it to a 15 kilo size Calor gas bottle which me mate modded:rolleyes: with 2 welded in pipes,,,

go to machine mart at the bottom of north hill and they have a good selection of small compressors and they also have a returns section at the rear of the shop wiith reduced prices on stuff that has been returned :thumb2better prices then halfrauds and the staff are quite helpful, Bm

A bit of web-window shopping and there's lots to find. Wolf have a special on the 50l upright that looks hard to beat.

The leaf blower idea got me wondering though. What recommendations are there in that regard?

Festive greetings

The upright is an oilfree, not the best :(
the one in my thread above comes complete with full kit and is oil filled compressor:thumb2

Thanks for keeping me straight on that Proff.

Separate question: where do you get your ACF50 to push through it?

Eddy

No worries - thanks.

Even £35/liter has to be better than a can for £13?!

All the best.
