It now looks like when my brother and I plan to visit the Ring that it may only be open for one evening during the two days we plan to stop off there.

As we will have a bit more time on our hands could you give is a few pointers of a few decent routes in the area.

Thanks

The 258 is a cracking road - arguably as good as the ring itself .. !!

Until you hit the Belgian border, then it turns to broken concrete :D
Seriously, its got lovely sweepers, and excelent tarmac. :thumby:
Watch out on race weekends they have loads of police out with cameras, and on bikes

I normally stay around Spa somewhere so pick the 258 up from there and travel south to the ring for a day trip ..

East of the Ring is a short but glorious stretch of road...the B259 from Büchel to Sehl then turn left when you meet the River Mosel to Cochem...nice ice cream shop on the left just before the Nordbrücke bridge as you start to leave Cochem...turn round and do the same again :thumb2

Been down there a few times and pretty much anywhere you go will find good riding roads. The whole area is worthy of spending a little while exploring.

The road from Adenau to Cochem, Cochem down the Mosel to Alf, then a right at Alf and head back. Glorious. One of many I know, but a favourite for me.

Cochem for kuchen(cakes) is always good :thumb

Too many solid lines on the 258 nowadays :rob

As everyone says - loads of choice round there. Need somewhere nearby to stay then contact6 Andy or Debbie [email protected] . A couple of Brit bikers who have recently taken over a small pension nearby :thumb2
